SAUK RAPIDS -- It's day four of the Benton County Fair and there is still plenty to see and do.

One of the more popular buildings on the fairgrounds belongs to the Sauk Rapids Sportsman's Club, which is filled with fish, birds and other animals found in Minnesota.

Club member Aaron Kreller says the main focus of their organization is geared toward fundraising to help the community.

"We do a lot of fundraisers, we sponsor the Sauk Rapids and Foley shooting teams, we give scholarships, and number of other things in the community."

The sportsman's club is selling raffle tickets for $1 throughout the fair, which goes back into the community to help fund several programs.

Kreller says a sport that has become within schools they help fund is trapshooting. He says it's growing in popularity because it's not niche sport.

"Yes you have to be able to aim, or lift a gun, but it works for every body. It's not about being the biggest or the fastest person to succeed in the sport."

Kreller says the club is holding a Youth Day event on September 16th to teach kids the sport of shooting, with the help of local trapshooting teams.

The Sauk Rapids Sportsman's Club currently have about 150 members and they are always looking for more.
