Max Scherzer struck out ten Twins batters for his 21st win of the season in Detroit's 1-0 win at Minnesota Wednesday night. The Tigers clinched the AL Central division with the win.

Scherzer walked six batters but allowed only one of them to reach third base in seven innings of work. The lone run of the game was scored on a Torii Hunter RBI single in the top of the first inning that plated Austin Jackson.

Kevin Correia pitched well for the Twins but was the tough-luck loser. The right hander allowed one run on seven hits while striking out one. His offense, however, was not as masterful as they only collected three hits-all singles.

Minnesota is 66-92 after the loss, with four games left to play in the season.
