Can we all agree that Led Zeppelin kicks ass? Good. Can we all agree that it sucks for my generation that we'll never see the (surviving) members perform together live?

Good.

Well, you can still see the singer of Zep perform Zep songs, even as he refuses to perform said Zep songs with said Zep band.

I realize that he at least co-wrote the songs he performs, but as a guy who was born too late to see them live (THANKS, MOM AND DAD!!), I would love to see what's left of them perform.

But Robert Plant has repeatedly said that there is absolutely no way in hell that he'll perform with John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page ever again now will you please stop asking him. I get it. I guess.

I don't. Ever since witnessing Pat Benatar berate the crowd for wanting to hear, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" because she was "sick of this song", I've lost respect for musicians who refuse to play the hits that got them to where they were. As a musician who never "made it", I find it appalling that someone would either not play or complain about playing their hit(s) because they're tired of playing them.

After playing in cover bands for years, I do get being sick of playing certain songs, except I was sick of playing other people's songs. I still played them. Whatever packs the dance floor. I get that. And I can understand being sick of playing the same songs for years, even decades.

But playing Led Zeppelin songs while refusing to play with Led Zeppelin? Oy.

Nevertheless, this past Tuesday Robert Plant treated fans in Toronto to a full set of Zep classics.

P.S. Am I jealous? OF COURSE!!
