Sharon Osbourne Claims NBC Wrongfully Fired Her Son Jack, Quits ‘America’s Got Talent’

Nobody wages a public feud quite like an Osbourne, as NBC discovered recently when the clan’s matriarch Sharon, wife and manager of Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne, quit her post as a judge on ‘America’s Got Talent‘ while blasting the network for allegedly discriminating against her son Jack after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

According to Sharon’s allegations, the younger Osbourne, who was set to star in the upcoming reality series ‘Stars Earn Stripes,’ was notified of his termination by email just two days before shooting was set to begin on the series — and despite his diagnosis, he had every expectation of being able to compete in a show that, in the words of the AP, “puts celebrities through arduous military-style exercises.”

Not surprisingly, the network’s chairman, Bob Greenblatt, denies Osbourne’s claims, insisting that NBC “does not discriminate on any basis,” although he did stress that ‘Stars Earn Stripes’ includes “dangerous water stunts, strenuous physical activity, and uses live ammunition.”

Concluded Greenblatt, “We have the deepest affection for Sharon Osbourne and consider her to be part of the NBC family, and our hearts go out to her, Ozzy, Jack and his family at this time.”
