I am asking you male Loonatics to join me in helping to bring awareness to men's health issues by growing a mustache during the 30-days of November Movember. Here's a short video explaining why it matters (and why I want you to join The Loon Movember Team).
2:00 AM this Sunday morning marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. Either Saturday night before you go to bed, or Sunday morning when you get up; remember to set your clocks back one hour (or be really early everywhere you go Sunday).
As a 2-time cancer survivor, I understand the power of awareness, screening, research, and care. Let's 'Man-Up' and make a difference by growing a mustache and raising some money. (Mo=Mustache. Vember=November.) Here's how to step up (and hopefully join the Loon's Movember team). Let's do this my 'Mo Bros.'.
An 88-foot white spruce was loaded up and hit the road today on it's 2000-mile trip to Washington, D.C. where it will take its place as the National Christmas Tree at the U.S. Capitol. The tree was harvested from the Chippewa National Forest near Cass Lake, Minnesota.
Well, this didn't go as planned. The launch (or attempted launch) was captured yesterday on NASA-TV. The rocket was launched by a private company, with a mission of resupplying the International Space Station. No one was injured.
I love Minnesota; born here, grew up here, went to the U of M. I moved away for 20+ years before moving back in 2013, and being away has made me appreciate our homeland even more. Garrison Keeler, hotdish, Vikings, goin' Up North, hockey, Grain Belt, the State Fair, and more! Here's why I'm excited for Saturday's 'Made in Minnesota Expo!'
Each week I give you my 'Thumbs Up' and 'Thumbs Down -- something good and something bad that's on my mind. Watch to find out what my 'Thumbs Up' and 'Thumbs Down' are, and add your own TU & TD by commenting below.
More Loonatic Loot was handed out last week, with lucky Loonatics cashing in on hundreds of dollars. First things first, you gotta be a member of the Loonatics Club (join here). Then just listen for your name and call us back when you hear it -- and you'll be on this list of winners too.
The Minnesota Vikings (3-5) topped to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-6) in Florida this afternoon on an Anthony Barr fumble return in overtime. The game wasn't pretty, but the Vikings showed improvements in many areas, in a season that has become one of on-the-job-learning for a handful of rookies.
The Minnesota Vikings (2-5) are in Florida to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5) today; with the kickoff set for Noon (Radio: AM 1240 WJON, TV: FOX). The Vikings are looking to bounce back from three straight losses, and hope to snap a six-game skid against the Bucs dating back to 2001.
St. John's (6-1, 4-1) crushed visiting MIAC foe Carleton College (0-6, 1-7) 52-3 this afternoon in Collegeville. Things didn't go as well for the Minnesota Gophers (6-2, 3-1), upset on the road by Illinois (4-4, 1-3) 28-24. St. Cloud State (3-5, 3-5) lost on the road at Northern State (5-3, 5-3) 45-23 in Aberdeen, SD.
