The Minnesota Wild (44-25-7) moved into third place in the NHL's Central Division with their 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings (37-24-14) last night at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild have now won five straight, and goaltender Devan Dubnyk improves to 26-6-1 since joining the team.
With the obnoxious prices of razors and replacement cartridges these days, I've been considering making the switch to a service like Dollar Shave Club. I finally gave them a try, and here's what I found:
The Minnesota Wild (43-25-7) rolled past the Calgary Flames (40-28-7) 4-2 last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The win, coupled with Chicago's loss to Columbus, leaves the Wild just one point the Blackhawks for third place in the NHL's Central Division.
The St. Cloud State Huskies Men's Hockey team (20-18-1) beat Michigan Tech (29-10-2) 3-2 in overtime yesterday afternoon in Fargo, to set up a showdown with NCHC rival North Dakota (28-9-3) tonight -- with a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four in Boston on the line.
The countdown is on as there are only ten days between now and the start of the 2015 Major League Baseball season -- with our Minnesota Twins opening on the road at Detroit on Monday, April 6th. The Twin's home opener at Target Field (yes, I will be there) is set for a week later against the Royals.
The Minnesota Wild (42-25-7) scored the only goal in the shootout, sneaking past the New York Islanders (44-25-5) 2-1 last night on Long Island -- their tenth straight road win. Zach Parise scored in the third period and in the shootout for the Wild.
The Minnesota Wild (41-25-7) continued their winning ways with a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs (27-41-6) last night north of the border. Charlie Coyle and Thomas Vanek scored for the Wild, and Devan Dubnyk made 35 saves. It was Minnesota's ninth straight road win.
The St. Cloud State Huskies (19-18-1) are moving on to the NCAA Men's Hockey tournament, taking on Michigan Tech (29-9-2) in the first round Friday night in Fargo. Minnesota, UMD, and Minnesota State (Mankato) also made the 16-team tourney, with Minnesota schools taking 1/4 of the spots.
Mother Nature doesn't care that our calendar says Spring. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Central and Southeastern Minnesota in effect from 11 AM this morning through 1 AM tonight -- with 2 to 4" of snow expected here in St. Cloud (more in some areas).
The Minnesota Wild (40-25-7) beat the visiting St. Louis Blues (45-21-6) 6-3 in a matinee game this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild jumped out to a 4-0 lead before hanging on for the win.
The St. Cloud State Huskies (19-17-1) and the Minnesota Gophers (22-12-3) will each play for their respective conference championships tonight in separate title games. SCSU will face Miami (Ohio) at 7:30 PM in the Target Center. Minnesota will face Michigan at 7 PM in Detroit.
The Minnesota Gophers Men's Hockey team (22-12-3) has advanced to the Big Ten title game with a 3-0 shutout win over Ohio State (14-19-3) tonight in Detroit. The Gophers will face Michigan (22-14-0) for the conference championship tomorrow night in the Motor City.
