In most musical groups, there is usually only one person that is actually in charge of the writing process. Guys like Kurt Cobain, Eddie Van Halen, and Roger Waters were the creative leaders of their groups, receiving only minimal input from the other members of the band. Writing is often a solitary process for many people.

There have only been a handful of truly legendary song writing teams over the years. Among them Paul McCartney and John Lennon, Darryl Hall and John Oats, and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Of course, when speaking of musical duos, you have to mention Simon and Garfunkel. “The Sound Of Silence” is one of the most haunting and touching songs ever written.

Of course they co-wrote several other wonderful songs through the years too. If you happen to be a fan you’ll be interested to hear that there will be a Simon and Garfunkel tribute show at the Le Musique Room in St. Michael by “Sound Of Simon.” The show will be on April 13th. You can get your tickets online now for $31.
