Simple Minds Featured On 80’s At 8 With “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” [VIDEO]

The featured song, "Don't You Forget About Me' was a feature not only in the film 'The Breakfast Club', but in Rocky 2, and TV shows including Family Guy, Scrubs, Psych, and 30 Rock.

Simple Minds have also sold more than 60 Million albums since the late 70's and. It hit # 1 in the Canadian, Netherlands and U.S. charts.

Interesting note about the song that was written by Steve Chiff -- it was offered to Billy Idol and Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music. Both of them declined.

Jim Kerr was married to Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders when the song came out, divorced and later married actress Patsy Kensit, divorced and she took up with Liam Gallagher of Oasis.

Honestly at the moment I can't think of a song that got more air-play than this one. It was not only on Rock Stations, but also on Top 40 Stations.
