Songwriter Jerry Leiber Dies At 78

Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were a team like no other when it came to songwriting. They penned classics like ‘Stuck in the Middle With You’, ‘Stand By Me’, and ‘Yakety Yak’ (just to name a few) for nearly 60 years.

Jerry passed away Monday August 22nd at the age of 78, he had been suffering from cardiopulmonary disease.

Much of their success came to them in the 60′s, but their songs were so classic they carried through generations. Their catalog was even made into a Broadway musical in 1995 titled ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’.

Jerry Leiber will definitely be remembered through his music for many years to come.
