MINNEAPOLIS - On Tuesday of next week it will be the 10 year anniversary of the I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Historical Society is remembering the event with a new display. Curator Adam Scher says you can see a remnant of the bridge at Mill City Museum.

The piece of the gusset plate from the central section of the bridge, which is believed to be the cause of the collapse.  So it's a historically significant piece of the bridge.

You can see the gusset plate in the museum's Mill City Commons starting this Friday, and going through the end of August. It is free and open to everyone.

Also, at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul, you can see an artifact from the bridge collapse in the "Then Now Wow" exhibit.

In that exhibit we have the emergency exit door from the school bus that was on the bridge when it collapsed.  There were a number of children that were coming back from a field trip that day.

The I-35W bridge collapse on August 1st, 2007 killed 13 people and 145 others were hurt.
