The 2015 Perseid meteor shower begins tonight across Central Minnesota, and you could be treated to 50-100 meteors per hour tonight through Friday -- with peak viewing times between Midnight and dawn. A waning crescent moon rise just before dawn will ensure dark night skies for prime meteor viewing.

Get out of town away from artificial, city lights -- in an area of wide-open sky for best viewing. And give yourself time -- your eyes can take as long as twenty minutes to adjust to the dark. No equipment required, just lie back and take it in. The activity is expected to peak on the 12th and 13th.

Enjoy!
