St. Cloud Apollo's (23-5-2) state hockey title hopes were dashed with a 2-0 loss to top-seed Hermantown (27-2-1) this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center. The Apollo Eagles will face Mahtomedi tomorrow morning at 9 AM in the Class A Third Place game in St. Paul.

East Grand Forks defeated Mahtomedi 5-2 earlier in the day to advance to tomorrow's championship game, and will face Hermantown in a rematch of last year's Class A title game. East Grand Forks won last year's crown with a 7-3 win over Hermantown. This will be Hermantown's record-setting sixth straight appearance in the championship game. They are 0-5 during that run.

Tomorrow morning's 3rd Place game can be heard on AM 1390 The Fan.

Go Eagles!
