ST. CLOUD -- Veterans can learn about the services available to them all under one roof Friday.

The St. Cloud Stand Down will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the St. Cloud National Guard Armory.

Jim Bestick is with the Stand Down and says the biannual event provides veterans with information on everything.

"There is counselors from the VA talking about how to approach the benefits, the county's veterans service officers will be here."

Bestick says they expect about 300 veterans and each one will get a free turkey dinner. He adds the event is an important opportunity for veterans.

"You're not going to get this group of people with what they have to offer in any one place in the St. Cloud area."

The event is free to all veterans. If you would like to attend the Stand Down you're asked to bring some form of identification showing you are a veteran.
