ST. CLOUD -- The Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota received a donation of over $51,000 from St. Cloud Subaru Monday afternoon.

Through St. Cloud Subaru's "Share the Love" event the dealership donated $250 from each new car sold between mid-November 2016 through January 1, 2017. This is the third year in a row St. Cloud Subaru has donated its "Share the Love" proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club. President Scott Bement says the dealership loves to give back to the community and it's great to see the money put to good use each year.

"It's really neat to see what the Boys and Girls Club does with this money every year. Everybody at that program, you can just see it, it's not a job, they really care about every one of these kids. If feels good for us to know that this money is going to them."

This year St. Cloud Subaru donated $51,424 to the Boys and Girls Club.

Mark Sakry is the Executive Director of the Central Minnesota Boys and Girls Club. He says the funds donated Monday will go toward meals for kids in the club.

"We're very excited, we're going to be spending this money our meal program at the club where we have been serving meals of over 110,000 last year, at all three clubs total that amount. It's such an important thing when the kids arrive after school they get a snack and a full meal a little later."

Sakry says in years past the dealership's donations have also helped fund career exploration initiatives, where kids get to visit with local professionals to help them decide what type of career they might want to go into.

Since 2015, St. Cloud Subaru has donated nearly $120,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota.
