Stearns County Deputies responded to a fight on their own roof.

The Sheriff's office got a call yesterday (Monday) afternoon at about 3:15 p.m. of a fight that happened on the roof the the jail.

A re-roofing project is currently underway and two of the workers got into an argument.

The 23-year-old victim received a cut to his forehead, and had a tooth knocked out.

The suspect is 43-year-old Warren Smith of St. Cloud.  Neither the victim or Smith are  employees of the contractor, but were hired through a temp agency.  Smith is accused of hitting the victim in the face with a rake used for spreading rocks as part of the roofing project.

Smith was brought down from the top of the jail and booked in the jail.

The victim refused medical treatment.
