T-Wolves Close to Completing Trade; Kirilenko On the Way
The Timberwolves have agreed to a 3-team trade that will send forward Wes Johnson to Phoenix along with a first round draft pick. New Orleans will get center Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick from Phoenix. The Wolves get guard Jerome Dyson and center Brad Miller’s expiring contract and 2 2nd round picks from New Orleans.
The Wolves clear salary cap space by trading Johnson to Phoenix. Minnesota has agreed to terms on a 2-year $20 Million contract with Russian free agent small forward Andrei Kirilenko. Kirilenko is 31 and is 6’9. He avareged 12 points a game in 10 NBA seasons for Utah.
The trade is awaiting approval from the NBA. Once it is finalized the Wolves can sign Kirilenko.
