The Timberwolves have reached a contract agreement with 6’11 restricted free agent center Greg Stiemsma.  The Boston Celtics are not expected to match the offer because they are salary cap strapped.  Stiemsma averaged 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 55 games for the Celtics in 2011-2012.  Stiemsma is expected to be the backup center to Nikola Pekovic this season for the Wolves.

Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn has acknowledged agreements with unrestricted free agent guards Brandon Roy and Alexey Shved.

The Timberwolves defeated Memphis 97-91 in their final summer league game in Las Vegas.  Mike Harris led the Wolves with 22 points and Kammron Taylor added 15 points for Minnesota.  The Wolves were 4-1 in summer league games.
