The late rally in game one carried over into game two, with Polanco and Dozier each hitting three-run home runs in the top of the second inning to pace the win. Dillon Gee picked up the victory for Minnesota with six innings of one run, two hit ball.
Bartolo Colon picked up the win for the Twins and became just the third active pitcher (John Lackey and Max Scherzer being the others) to defeat all 30 MLB teams. Colon went six innings and allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six.
The Twins are currently in third place in the American League Central division, six games behind Cleveland. Minnesota is one game behind the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for the second AL wild card spot.
