The Vikings signed free agent cornerback Chris Carr Wednesday.  Terms of his deal were not disclosed.  Carr is a 28-year old 5’10 182 pound veteran who played 9 games in Baltimore in 2011.  He had 19 tackles and 1 sack with no interceptions...

The Vikings have been awarded 2 4th round compensatory picks in this April’s NFL Draft.  The picks are 128th and 134th overall.  The picks were expected by the Vikings but were announced Monday.  These compensatory picks are awarded to teams with a net loss of unrestricted free agents, determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors...

The NFL has suspended New Orleans Saints’ head coach Sean Payton for one year as punishment for the team’s admitted use of a bounty system from 2009 to 2011. Payton was aware of the system, which compensated players for hits inflicted on opponents. Payton’s suspension is slated to begin April 1.

The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a 1-year contract with former Viking receiver Randy Moss.  Moss worked out with the 49ers this weekend with 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh throwing him passes.  Moss didn’t play in the NFL in 2011 after playing with New England, Minnesota and Tennessee in 2010...
