Flip Saunders announced a few weeks ago that he had a Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is a form of cancer. Flip originally stated that the cancer was "treatable and curable" and that he would continue to serve as both head coach and as the president of basketball operations. We are unsure how long Mitchell will be the interim head coach, but expect him to be interim at least for a couple of months.
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach and president Flip Saunders revealed today that he is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system. Saunders' doctors say that it is a, “treatable and curable form of cancer,” and he plans to continue with his team duties.
The Timberwolves have come to an agreement to sign 6'11 forward Kevin Garnett to a 2-year contract. The 39-year old is expected to play approximately 20 minutes per game next season. Garnett is expected to sign the deal later this week.
