Minnesota Timberwolves

For a second straight game the Wolves kept it close against a playoff team but fell just short in the end. Minnesota trailed by just two points after a pair of Mo Williams free throws with 1:52 left in the fourth quarter but failed to make another basket in the contest.

Kevin Martin scored 21 points in 29 minutes of play in his first game back for the Wolves following wrist surgery in November. Six other Wolves scored in double figures including Gorgui Djeng, who scored 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds

Andrew Wiggins led Minnesota with 23 points on 7-14 shooting, while Gorgui Djeng led the Wolves with 18 rebounds in the loss. The Wolves are at home Wednesday night to host the Boston Celtics.

The Atlanta Hawks earned their 16th straight win Sunday with a 112-100 win over the Timberwolves. Minnesota, who has now lost four straight games, is now 7-36 on the season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (7-35) lost their tenth straight home game last night, falling to the visiting New Orleans Pelicans (22-21) 92-84 at the Target Center. Saint Cloud native Nate Wolters had five points for New Orleans.

The Timberwolves lost 98-75 at home to Dallas Wednesday night. The Mavericks were led by Chandler Parsons with 22 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 16 points and 9 rebounds.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (7-33) were handed a 25-point loss by the Charlotte Hornets (17-25) 105-80 this afternoon in North Carolina. The Wolves shot only 36% from the field, with Thaddeus Young leading the scoring for the Wolves with 18 points. Gorgui Dieng had ten rebounds and four blocked shots.

Mo Williams scored a career-high 52 points to lead Minnesota to the win. The 52 points are also the most scored by any player in the NBA this season. Williams shot 19-33 from the floor including 6-11 from three point range while still dishing out seven assists in the win.

As I was watching Nashville's Mike Fisher beat the crap out of the Wild's Justin Falk late in Saturday's game at The X, I paused to reflect on how painful it has been lately to be a fan of yours. You're killing me. You know things are bad when I feel like the Vikings have had the most success as of late. (Yes, the 7-9 Vikings.)

Mo Williams started at point guard for Minnesota and scored 23 points while dishing out 11 assists. Andrew Wiggins scored a team-high 25 points but missed a potential game-winning three pointer as time expired.

The Denver Nuggets sent the Timberwolves to their 12th straight loss Monday night with a 110-102 win at Target Center. The loss drops the Wolves to 5-28 on the season, and just 3-14 on their home court.

I do not think Wiggins will ever be as good as LeBron James or Kevin Durant, but he definitely has the ability to be someone that you can build your franchise around
