With tickets to the upcoming Grateful Dead 50th anniversary reunion shows completely sold out and going for absurdly expensive prices on the secondary market, some fans have been forced to take desperate measures.

While they're saving up for tickets to the band's upcoming 50th anniversary reunion shows, Grateful Dead fans may also want to set aside some money for a pair of new albums drawing from the Dead's extensive archives.

The four surviving original members of the band will reunite for three special shows in Chicago.

The venue where scores of memorable live albums and movies were recorded went out in style on Dec. 31, 1978.

In fact, he was pretty close to the bottom of his popularity, influence and creativity. And another live album -- his third in 10 years -- certainly didn't help matters.

With the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead's formation coming up in 2015, Bob Weir is urging the group's surviving founding members to put aside their differences for some sort of commemorative event.

So many of these songs had been shaped and defined through appearances in their legendary live sets.
