The Vikings hold the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2023 draft which will take place April 27-29. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON. He suggested the Vikings could consider a quarterback as early as the first round.

The Vikings lost linebacker Eric Kendricks, Dalvin Tomlinson, Cam Danzler and Patrick Peterson so far in free agency. They added defensive end Marcus Davenport and backup tight end Josh Oliver.

This morning the Minnesota Historical Society tweeted out a Minnesota Vikings 'Big Game' button from the 1970s, and in the process threw some salt in the Super Bowl wound of Vikings fans everywhere.

The Vikings ranked 31st in total yards allowed among 32 NFL teams this past season. Because of this Defensive Coordinator Ed Donatell was let go following the season. The Vikings hired former Miami Dolphins Head Coach and former Pittsburgh Steelers Assistant coach/Linebacker coach Brian Flores.

The Vikings' season ended Sunday with a 31-24 loss at home to the New York Giants in the wildcard round of the playoffs. The Giants moved the ball at will against the Minnesota defense but that isn't unusual because the Vikings have the 31st ranked defense out of 32 teams in the NFL.

The Vikings have clinched a playoff spot in the NFC and will be either the #3 seed or #2 seed. The Vikings will be the #3 seed and play the Giants at home in the first round unless they win Sunday at Chicago and the 49ers lose to the Cardinals.

Instead, it has been quiet chats in the office, sometimes someone will wear a jersey, but no one seems to be nearly as hyped up as they should be.
