When you define "supergroup," one could say "bands made up of members of various well known bands." Here's an introduction if you will of a "supergroup" who is playing music for a cause that has been a major problem for many: addiction.

They are made up from bands like  The Asbury Jukes, Vanilla Fudge, Aerosmith, Billy Joel's, and The Blackhearts. They  share the common experience of either being recovering addicts , had loved ones with addictions, or simply lending their support to the cause.

As the  classic rock generation gets older we have seen many   crash and burn sooner than we would like Joplin, Hendrix etc...). We have lost many to addiction. But there are those who, through hard work and a commitment have beaten it. my hats off to them and their cause.

Those participating in the band Rockers in Recovery include:

Mark Stein - keyboardist/lead vocals (Vanilla Fudge)

Christine Ohlman - vocals - from The SNL Band

Ricky Byrd - guitar and vocals also Musical Director ,Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

Richie Supa - guitar/vocals - Aerosmith

Liberty DeVitto - drums, Played with Billy Joel for 30 years .

The major distinctions that make Rockers in Recovery so special is the Band members embrace their sobriety publicly, plus a great message in song and are community role models.
