The debut album, 'The Doors' was definitely a tough act to follow as their second released came in September 1967, titled 'Strange Days.'

Proof was in the pudding again as 'Strange Days' reached #3  and produced two singles that charted, "People Are Strange" and "Love Me Two Times" at #12 and #25 respectively.

Paul Rothchild who had produced their first five albums was disappointed in 'Strange Days' stating it didn't meet his expectations as a commercial success, he wanted something, "bigger than anything The Beatles had done."

Interestingly enough all the songs on this album were written before the first album would be released and all the songs were written by the band members. 'Strange Days' included one of the first songs Jim had written, "Moonlight Drive" which was supposed to be on the first album.

Original LP Track List:

  1. "Strange Days"
  2. "You're Lost Little Girl"
  3. "Love Me Two Times"
  4. "Unhappy Girl"
  5. "Horse Latitudes"
  6. "Moonlight Drive"

Side 2

  1. "People Are Strange"
  2. "My Eyes Have Seen You"
  3. "I Can't See Your Face in My Mind"
  4. "When the Music's Over"
