Oh yes, The Eagles. Honestly, they’re one of those bands that everyone likes. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anyone say “I don’t like The Eagles.” It’s kind of like the Vikings winning the Super Bowl – it just doesn’t happen (insert sarcastic laugh here.) But really, what’s not to like?

Everything from Don Henley’s cool, airy voice and clever lyricism to Joe Walsh’s blistering guitar solos is pretty spot on. Despite “Hotel California” being the most over-played song of all time (next to maybe “Free Bird” or “Stairway To Heaven”) there are still tons of Eagles tunes I absolutely love – “Witchy Woman” “One Of These Nights” and “Tequila Sunrise” to name a few.

If for some reason you’re unable to attend The Eagles concert at Target Field June 30th (or if you’re like me and just don’t like large crowds) then a cool alternative you can check out to see all those classic tunes live is “Takin’ It To The Limit.” It’s an Eagles tribute show taking place in St. Michael at the Le Musique Room.

The band performing will be The Fabulous Armadillos, which just so happens to be my favorite local band. I’ve seen their Pink Floyd tribute twice and they never cease to amaze me. A friend of mine actually went to their Eagles tribute show last year, and he swears it’s the best concert he’s ever seen. Needless to say I’m excited to see this show. The concert takes place May 5th at 8 pm. You can get your tickets online now for $36 per ticket.
