The First Thing to Reach For When You Feel a Cold Coming On is…
Water. Simply, water.
Why?
The body produces mucus to get rid of viruses, and you need to be hydrated to produce mucus. By staying hydrated, you keep the mucus production flowing.
The viruses and infections are in the mucus, and they're cleared by you swallowing them and passing them through your digestive system.
Gross? Yes. Science? Yes.
So drink gallons and gallons of water to flush that viral turd out of your body, right?
Nope.
Drink a glass every 1 to 2 hours (not just a ton in the morning). Keep your urine to a pale yellow color. If it's darker, you need more water.
If it's Jagermeister-colored, go to a hospital. If it's Jagermeister, get a shot glass.
Also get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Every night. Those who get less sleep than that are more susceptible to catching the rhinovirus.
More sleep & more water when you're sick. Dr Choad's orders.
