'Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton' (1966) was a British sensation which caught the ear of guitar great  Jimi Hendrix.

Eric Clapton revolutionized rock guitar playing, becoming the first guitar hero. His outstanding play on such standout performances as "All Your Love," "Hideaway," "Stepping Out," "Key To Love" and the slow bluesy tune, "Have You Heard" remain some of Clapton's most impressive work.

Even before the album's release Clapton had left Mayall's outfit to hook up with drummer Ginger Baker and bassist Jack Bruce to form Cream.
