in 1965 recognized artists as well as emerging bands would step up and deliver. These bands would transform pop into rock music as we know it today. Significant albums released that year would tell the story loud and clear.

The Beatles continued their phenomenal commercial success  with the release of two albums in 1965, 'Rubber Soul' and 'Help.' 'Rubber Soul' would be the first album they released that would feature all original songs.

Long Live John Lennon and George Harrison who were two members of a band that changed the history of Rock-N-Roll.

Essential songs from their album 'Help':

  • "Help"
  • "Ticket to Ride"
  • "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"
  • "You're Going to Lose That Girl"
  • "The Night Before"

From 'Rubber Soul' (U.S. version):

  • "Norwegian Wood"
  • "In My Life"
  • "Michelle'
  • "I've Just Seen A Face"

From 'Help', "Your Going to That Girl"

"Your Going To Lose That Girl" is a continuation of the story from  the song "She Loves You."  The song pretty much establishes the fact that the girl is crazy about the guy being sung to,  it's clear that he must take action or risk losing her.

From 'Rubber Soul" the song "In My Life" it's an autobiographical song about John Lennon's life. He wrote most of the lyrics after being asked why a book he wrote, In His Own Write, revealed more about him than his songs did.

"In My Life" refers to Stu Sutcliffe, an early Beatle who passed away in 1962 and Pete Shotton another friend of John's.
