This weekend features the release of Levi Pelzer's first album. He's having a CD Release Party at Pioneer Place. There are also two parades this weekend during Rapids River Days, and Granite City Days, which will once again be kicked off by the popular Lemonade Concert and Art Fair. Country Legend Travis Tritt will be performing at the Liberty Savings Block Party. SJU Graduate Shaun Johnson and country music duo Thompson Square also have performances this weekend.

    The day is finally here. After telling you the story of Levi Pelzer's trip to Nashville, his first album is ready to be released. He is the guitar player for the popular band LOSS4WORDS. Pelzer has already released his first single, but now you can pick up his entire album, self titled "Levi Pelzer". Below is the video from February when Pelzer told us his story of his experiences from getting the phone call from Nashville producer Jason Perri, to recording his album at OmniSound Studios. Tickets for the release party are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door.

    Thompson Square

    Grad Casino Mille Lacs Events & Convention Center

    Thompson Square will be in concert at Grand Casino Mille Lacs this Saturday. Keifer and Shawna Thompson have been honored as "Vocal Duo of the Year" by both the ACM and CMA. After touring through the U.S., Asia, and Austrailia with their "Just Feels Good Tour", they spent some time in the studio to work on their third album with Stoney Creek Records. It's due out later this year. Until then you can catch the award winning country duo singing their #1 hits "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not", "If I Didn't Have You", and "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About", in concert this weekend. Tickets start at $30.

    Shaun Johnson Big Band Experience

    Darnall Amphitheater, College of Saint Benedict - St. Joseph

    The free outdoor performances at Saint Benedict's Darnall Amphitheater are back for another great summer. The Shaun Johnson Big Band Experience kicks off the series on Friday. The band performs a big band style with a modern day mix of genres. Johnson, a Saint John University Graduate and Tonic Sol-fa member, is an Emmy-winning singer and songwriter. He's joined on stage by Aaron Moe, Jeff Carver, Theo Brown, Jim Beirma, David Stanoch, Ronny Loew, Dave Stamps, Conrad Miska, and Dave Budimir. The BBE has a PBS special, "Spirit of the Season" airing through 2016, and the bands first studio recording "What'll I Do" is available. Catch the Big Band Experience at Sunset Stages at Saint Ben's this weekend. Upcoming performances include Comedians Shannan Paul & Mary Mack, Robert Robinson, and Deuces Wild. All of these performances are free.

    Rapids River Days

    Sauk Rapids

    The 2015 Rapids River Days kicks off tonight with the Sauk Rapids Community Ambassadors Pageant. The pageant is open to the public, and is held at the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School Performing Arts Center starting at 7:00 p.m. Then on Friday be sure to catch the Rapids River Days Parade starting at 6:00 p.m. The route runs along 6th Avenue, and be sure to get there early to get your seat along the route. Saturday's events include Tanner's Team Foundation 5K/1K Walk and Run. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. at Bob Cross Park. The Rapids River Food Fest kicks off at 11:00 a.m. at the Municipal Park. During the Food Fest you can also watch the MN State Strongman/Women Championships from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The festival will also include Pony and Camel rides, face painting, caricatures, catapulting water wars, a party time bouncer and obstacle course, and music from Kevin Lange & the Mississippi Drifters, The Receders, and Honey Badgers.

    Granite City Days

    St. Cloud

    Granite City Days will once again kick off with the Lemonade Concert & Art Fair. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on the campus of St. Cloud State University. CLICK HERE for a list of the day's events. New this year at the fair is the Lemon Twist Historic Home Fine Art Crawl which will be touring historic homes including the Lewis House, Whitney House, Acacia Fraternity, Heritage House B&B, and Alden/Kelly House. Friday features canoe trips at River Bluffs Regional Park Boat Landing, and the Liberty Savings Block Party featuring Travis Tritt at Liberty Square starting at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday you and the kids can go to the parade, and the Paramount event. Also new this year is SING!! St. Cloud - A Karaoke Contest. Our sister station 98.1 Minnesota New Country's very own Ashli will be one of the judges. The contest will be at Lake George from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m and include beer gardens and food vendors.
