It's Valentine's Day weekend so we start of with Valentine's Dance Party. You can also enjoy great music this weekend at a few concerts, one which features a group from London. Plus enjoy a great play from the CSB/SJU Theater Departments, or if you are planning your big day don't miss the wedding show this weekend.     This dance party will feature the Brothers Tone and The Big Groove. With the addition of vocals, the twelve piece band is sure to give a great performance. Best of My Love will have covers of all the great love songs from artist ranging from Chicago to Bruno Mars. Band members include Andy Spofford, Craig Mesenbring, Mark Norgren, Dwight Nelson, Preston Weber, Karla Jensen, Elene Tonder, Jocelynn Moran, Joe McGown, Tom Lyseng, Jill Moore, and Craig Engelhart. Tickets are $16, the doors will open at 7:30 p.m.

    Schubert Ensemble of London

    The Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud present the Schubert Ensemble of London. The ensemble is made up of William Howard on piano, Simon Blendis on Violin, Douglas Paterson on viola, and Jane Salmon on cello. There are three opportunities to see the group. The first on on Friday in Clemens Hall at the Whitney Senior Center at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance. This will be a shorter concert. The next performance is a free family concert on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The show will be at the St. Cloud Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The last show will be later Saturday night at the First United Methodist Church in Sartall at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this show will be available at the door, and are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $5 for students. The program includes music from Huw Watkins, Fauré, and Dvořák.

    The Schubert Ensemble has played in over forty countries, and has recorded over thirty critically acclaimed CDs.

    The Granite City Folk Society presents Paul Imholte. He is most known as a hammered dulcimer player, but he also plays the fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, viola, cello, autoharp, harmonica, jawharp, and spoons. Imholte has released nine CDs, and on top of his solo work, plays with two other bands, Rings of Kerry and The Tarveys. CLICK HERE to see a video of Paul Imholte playing his different instruments. Also below is a video from the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair this past summer where we featured Imholte as part of the event.

    Tickets for Friday's concert are $10 at the door.

    The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University Theater Departments present Proof. Directed by Kaarin S. Johnston is a play that explores the mysteries of love as much as it does the mysteries of science. The play follows a young girl who has spent years caring for her father who once was a mathematician, but now can not function without her help. It should be noted this performance has adult themes and language. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, faculty, staff, students, and youth. This is the opening weekend for the play, and it will run though February 21st.
