ST. CLOUD — There is no shortage of things to do around Central Minnesota this weekend that you and your family won't enjoy. You can head over to The College of St. Benedict to see the performance of The Bacchae, enjoy dinner an a show at the Great Blue Heron, the Fall Performace of  Folk In Distant Lands at SCSU, rock out with country group 2 Mile Final at Rollie's and listen to a tribute to music legends who have left us with Pioneer Place's From the Grave series.     The Bacchae

    Gorecki Theatre

    The College of St. Benedict is holding their weekend performance of The Bacchae. The play is based on the Greek myth of King Pentheus of Thebes and his mother Agave, and their punishment by the god Dionysus, who plays to avenge the slander of his name to the city and the king of Thebes. However, as the play proceeds Dionysus encounters what he considers newly occurring reasons to be angry, which grows his revenge out of proportion. Tickets for the show are $10. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) through Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

    Drinking Habits a Farce by Tom Smith

    Great Blue Heron

    From accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud comedy. The Great Northern Theatre Company presents "Drinking Habits a Farce by Tom Smith. The story features two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing who have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, however several reporters are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. The show runs tonight (Thursday) through Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Great Blue Heron Tickets are $38 which includes not only the performance but dinner as well.

    Fall Performace: Folk In Distant Lands

    Ruth Gant Recital Hall - SCSU

    The Central Minnesota Youth Orchestra ensembles will perform music selections highlighting folk inspired music from across the world this weekend at St. Cloud State University. The performance is made possible through the Central Minnesota Arts Board. Special guest Dr. Hillary Vermillion will also be performing a few songs. The show will be held in the Ruth Gant Recital Hall on St. Cloud State University. Performance starts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Show is free.

    2 Mile Final

    Rollies Rednecks and Longnecks

    2 Mile Final is a country rock/southern rock band who has been plaything throughout the mid west. The group performs covers from the likes of Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Lynyrd Skynyard and more. The show always full of energy that will entertain any crowd and they love audience interaction. Tickets range between $20-$50 but you can call 320-255-0912 call for exact details!

    From the Grave IV

    Pioneer Place

    Head over to Pioneer Place to hear a tribute of music artists who was moved on. The From the Grave performance is the fourth installment of the series and features songs from artists who left us with their musical legacy. Songs will be performed by the Fabulous Armadillos and you never know which artist they plan to tribute. Tickets for the show are $37 and while unfortunately while the show is sold out this weekend you can still get tickets for Monday and Tuesday's shows. Performance starts at 7:30 p.m.
