It goes without saying that the holiday season can be a stressful time of year, with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all bundled together within a matter of just over a month, this time of year can be crazy.  Haven't decided if my excessive drinking over this period of time makes it worse or better?  Either way I'm sticking to what I know and all I know is if I'm a little numb things are better. If you are not a dinker, here are some sober ideas to staying sane.

1. Don't overspend - Money is the leading cause of stress, that should come as no surprise, so don't overspend and you should be fine.  Make a budget and stick to it.  Can you remind my wife of this?  No really, can you?

2. Don't worry too much about traditions -  If you worry about traditions that you may not be still doing you may drive yourself crazy.  If tradition is that important just come up with a new one.  Maybe involve alcohol in your new one too, that always makes me feel better.

3. Don't try to buy the perfect gift for everyone - There is no perfect gift, so attempting to get one will only drive you crazier than you already are.  If you're married you know exactly what I mean.  Get a gift card and be done with it.
