This morning (10.11), Rod Stewart was knighted at Buckingham Palace! Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, performed the honors. He will now be known as Sir Roderick David Stewart, while his wife is now Lady Penny Lancaster.

There have been talks that three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams could be playing Janis Joplin in a new movie. Producer Peter Newman has been trying in vain to get a Joplin biopic to the big screen for more than 20 years.
The first leg of the Desert Trip festival has come to a close with The Who andRoger Waters closing things down. Each performed for 2 hours, and Desert Trip will resume for the last and final weekend on October 14th.
