Every weekday, we take a look at what's happening in Music News.

Check out the headlines HERE:

  • Former Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee will be taking over as full time drummer for Scorpions, replacing James Kottak. Kottak has stepped aside to deal with his alcohol abuse problems.
  • Producer Lewis Merenstein, who worked with Van Morrison on a few of his albums, has died at the age of 81. Cause of death has been determined as “complications due to pneumonia.”
  • Bruce Springsteen has written his autobiography Born to Run, and he is now taking the book on tour! He will be hitting the road this month and in October, but sadly no stops in Minnesota.
  • David Bowie had a Broadway musical running during the time of his death, and lots of the songs in that play were featured on his latest Blackstar album. Now, the play Lazarus, is coming out with their soundtrack. On it, you'll hear some of Bowie's last recordings. This is set to come out on October 21st.

Fun fact - the play Nazarus stars actor Michael C. Hall. If that name sounds familiar, it is the guy who played Dexter in the HBO show Dexter. I didn't know a serial killer could sing so well!
