The Bay area was the home of many great bands, The Jefferson Airplane were no exception.The Jefferson Airplane began in 1965 and finished up in 1972.

Marty Balin - vocals
Signe Toly Anderson - vocals ( soon to be Grace Slick)
Paul Kantner - vocals, rhythm guitar
Jorma Kaukonen - lead guitar
Jerry Peloquin - drums
Bob Harvey - acoustic bass

Jefferson Airplane Facts would include seven of their ten albums reached the Top 20 on U.S. album charts, they were the pioneers of the Psychedelic Rock genre and in 1996
they inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Their first album came out in 1966, however;  the group didn't really gain national notoriety until they played the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967.

They made the cover of Life magazine in 1968 and played Woodstock in 1969.
