The Doors are one of my favorite bands, the psychedelic area was very unique with it's history and sound.The Doors began in 1965 in Los Angeles, however; 1972 was a sad year for the band the Doors as we knew them ended after the death of Jim Morrison.

The original members were:

Jim Morrison - (vocals)
Robbie Krieger - (guitar)
Ray Manzarek - (keyboards)
John Densmore - (drums)

The Doors released nine studio albums and 18 singles prior to their breakup in 1972, with another six live and compilation albums since then.
The Doors are 20th on VH1's list of the greatest rock artists and in 1993 they were
inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

It all started when Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek met as students at UCLA's film school.

Robbie Krieger and John Densmore were in a band called The Psychedelic Rangers, and knew Manzarek through their meditation classes. Together, they formed The Doors in 1965, borrowed the name from The Doors Of Perception, ( Aldous Huxley).

The group released its first album, The Doors in 1967.
