If there are two things I’ve learned since moving to Minnesota a couple of years ago it’s that we drink like fish, and we have nothing but killer festivals all summer long.

I’ve seen a good chunk of the world at this point in my life – England, Wales, France, and most of the United States – and I can honestly say that I’ve never been anywhere that holds as many music festivals as Minnesota.

As a musician, that makes me pretty happy. I take any opportunity I can to check out new bands and artists. There’s one festival in particular that my friends have been trying to convince me to check out for a couple of years now.

I’m talking about Shangri La. I’ve seen videos and pictures of performances at this festival, and I’ve got to say, it looks incredible. It’s perhaps the most trippy, psychedelic festival I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Which means if you’re a hippie like myself, you’ll probably have an awesome time. Not to mention the legendary psychedelic rock band – Wookiefoot. The festival lasts from August 30th – September 2nd at Harmony Park and you can get tickets online now for $150.
