A subject that I think is interesting to everyone is Ancestry. It’s fu tho think about where our families come from, what our heritage is like, and what kinds of cultures we have roots in.

Personally, I’m heavily German on both sides of my family, with some Irish roots on my mom’s side and Native American on my dad’s (which maybe explains why I like beer and have a passion for shamanism?)

I always kind of thought that ancestry and genealogy played a role in your interests and personality. Something that I’ve been meaning to do for quite some time is research my bloodline a little more. I know the basic background of my bloodline but not many details (besides the fact that my great, great uncle was Jessie James. Weird right?)

If you’re like me and you’d like to find out more about you ancestry you might want to check out the Genealogy Treeshakers. They’re a monthly genealogy group that’s having their next meeting at the Great River Regional Library in Clearwater on April 14th, at 11 in the morning.

They will discuss tips and ideas for the amateur genealogist and will even have materials and others supplies for the pros. Beginners and advanced genealogists are all welcome. This particular event is intended for individuals ages 16 and over and attendance is absolutely free.
