The Minnesota Twins lost at the hands of the Kansas City Royals by a score of 7-3 Thursday night. The Twins lead 3-2 going into the 6th inning, but Mike Pelfrey surrendered the tying run on a Salvador Perez RBI single in the bottom of the 6th. The Royals added 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning off of Jared Burton (0-3).

The Twins scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Jamey Carroll scored on a wild pitch, and Ryan Doumit added a 2-run homerun to give starter  Mike Pelfrey an early 3 run lead. The Royals scored 2 in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but wouldn't score again until the 6th. Mike Pelfrey pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up 3 runs and lowering his season ERA to 6.40. Tim Collins (2-1) pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Royals to earn the win.
