The Twins picked speedy outfielder Byron Buxton with the 2nd overall pick in the baseball entry draft Monday night.  Buxton was considered by many to be the best prospect in the draft.  Houston chose first and picked shortstop Carlos Correa.  Buxton is 6’2 190 pounds with great speed, solid bat and great arm.  He’s been clocked at 99 MPH when pitching.

The Twins picked righthanded pitchers with picks #32 and #42 in the compensatory round.  The picked 6’0 190 pound Jose Berrios of Papa Juan High School #32 and 6’3 195 pound Luke Bard of Georgia Tech #42 overall.  Bard is the younger brother of Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard.
