The Twins beat the Indians 3-1 at Target Field Wednesday. Minnesota is now 46-54 on the season and trail Detroit by 11 games in the American League Central.

Anthony Swarzak got the start for the Twins in place of Kyle Gibson, who had a sore back after throwing a bullpen session earlier in the week. Swarzak lasted five innings and allowed just one run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Glen Perkins struck out a pair of Cleveland hitters in the ninth inning to earn his 24th save of the season.

Danny Santana went 3-3 in the game for the Twins while scoring two runs, and Sam Fuld was 1-2 with two walks and a RBI in the win.

The Twins open a four game series with the White Sox tonight at Target Field. Hector Noesi starts for the White Sox against the Twins’ Phil Hughes.
