The Twins hit the road after losing four straight at home to beat the Tigers 6-3 at Comerica Park Tuesday night. Minnesota had previously dropped three straight games to Chicago at Target Field, followed by a loss to the Mets in a makeup game Monday.

Mike Pelfrey pitched well for Minnesota, allowing only a single run to the Tigers through six innings until faltering a bit in the seventh. Pelfrey improved to 5-10 on the season after allowing three runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings of work.

Justin Morneau had a huge night for the Twins, going 4/5 with four runs batted in, including a two run home run in the top of the fourth to open the scoring.

Minnesota closer Glen Perkins picked up his 29th save for the Twins, but not without some drama. The lefty got Miguel Cabrera to strike out swinging with two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

Twins catcher Joe Mauer was a late scratch, and the team announced Tuesday he would be placed on the seven day concussion-related disabled list.
