The Twins topped the Red Sox 6-4 on Wednesday afternoon to complete a sweep of the three game series at Target Field. Minnesota is now 28-18 on the season and move into a first place tie with Kansas City with the win.

Joe Mauer was 2-4 with a run batted in for the Twins, while Torii Hunter was 1-4 with two runs batted in. Aaron Hicks and Eddie Rosario also added home runs in the win for Minnesota.

Phil Hughes was victimized twice by Dustin Pedroia, who hit a pair of home runs in the loss for Boston, but pitched well enough to win. Hughes pitched 6.2 innings while allowing four runs on six hits.

Glen Perkins pitched the ninth inning to pick up his MLB-leading 18th save.

The Twins are off Thursday before hosting Toronto at Target Field on Friday.
