The Twins jumped out to a short-lived big lead then narrowly hung on for a 7-6 win in Detroit Thursday afternoon.

Minnesota led the game 6-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a pair of RBI doubles and a three run home run from Ryan Doumit.

Doumit's blast in the top of the sixth made the score 5-2, followed by a Brian Dozier single to give the Twins a four run lead.

The Tigers got them all back in the bottom of the sixth, however, with Bryan Holaday knocking in a run on an infield single and Austin Jackson smashing a three-run home run to tie the game.

Chris Hermann came through with the game winning hit for Minnesota, a double to score Doug Bernier. Glen Perkins pitched out of a multiple-baserunner jam to earn his 30th save.
