The Minnesota Twins (40-48) made it five straight wins Monday night with a 3-1 win over the visiting Kansas City Royals at Target Field.

Twins all-star starter Jose Berrios (9-7) pitched seven innings, allowing one run on six hits; while striking out eight. Minnesota closer Fernando Rodney got his 20th save.

Minnesota third baseman Eduardo Escobar had three hits, and the game-winning RBI when he drove Joe Mauer home in the seventh inning.
