The Minnesota Twins (3-6) won their second game in a row against previously unbeaten Kansas City Royals (7-2) 8-5 this afternoon at Target Field in Minneapolis. Kennys Vargas and Kurt Suzuki both connected on two-run homers, and Joe Mauer added three RBIs in the win.

Minnesota left-hander Tommy Milone improved to 2-0, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings.

Kennys Vargas' home run off Jason Vargas got out in a hurry, and had an exit speed off the bat of 113 mph, which ranked as the third-hardest-hit homer this season. The two-run homer by Suzuki marked the first two runs off the Royals' bullpen this season.

Next up for the Twins; tomorrow night at 7:10 PM at Target Field to open a 3-game series against the Cleveland Indians (Radio: 1240 WJON, TV: Fox Sports North).

Go Twins!
