Fresh off hosting a nationally watched Vikings' playoff game, and Super Bowl LII, U.S. Bank Stadium is looking at a couple big awards.

U.S. Bank Stadium opened in the 2016 football season and has been a spectacle in the NFL for its architectural design and the overall experience for teams and fans. Many have complained about the experience for concerts, noting that the sound is not optimal when attending a concert from any of the upper rows in the stadium. But these awards aren't focused on that part of it.

The focus of the awards that U.S. Bank Stadium is up for is "Sports Facility of the Year" by Sports Business Daily, an industry business news source. The awards ceremony includes many different categories within the "business" of sports that include: team of the year, league of the year, event of the year, executive of the year, and many more.

Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium is nominated in their category, along with the newly renovated Target Center! This is quite an achievement to have multiple facilities in the same state that are nominated in the same category. Other facilities nominated include: Little Caesars Arena, Notre Dame Stadium, SunTrust Park/The Battery Atlanta, and T-Mobile Arena.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on May 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square.

The other award that U.S. Bank Stadium is up for is the Rush2Recycle program at Super Bowl LII.

The Minnesota Vikings also just announced the Rush2Recycle program is up for the “Sustainability and Community Award” in a ceremony called "TheStadiumBusiness Awards", which will be presented during TheStadiumBusiness Summit on June 12 in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Congrats to our Minnesota Vikings and their amazing U.S. Bank Stadium. It's a gorgeous facility that fans can be proud to have represent our state of Minnesota. We can't forget to give kudos to Target Center as well. If you haven't been there lately, they've stepped up this long standing venue with some amazing new updates to the entire facility in downtown Minneapolis.
