Updated: Minneapolis Storm Victims Need Your Help
Our Minnesota nice has shone through these past few days to help out our neighbors in need. Here’s a running total of what has been collected so far and other ways you can help.
So far, the Salvation Army has collected over $50 thousand dollars in donations as well as two full semi trailers and four large van loads worth of non perishable food, bottled water, personal and household items, furniture, clothes, bedding and towels. The donations came in fast and will likely disappear just as fast, so they still need you. Here are some other ways to help:
1. The Salvation Army is collecting donations of non-perishable food items such as bottled water, peanut butter and canned goods as well as personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, baby wipes and feminine products as well as toys and NEW blankets, sheets, bedding and towels at two separate locations. Starting Monday, the Salvation Army will be collecting donations at their permanent locations. Food and hygiene items can be dropped off at 2024 Lyndale Avenue North in Minneapolis. Furniture and clothing can be dropped off at 900 North 4th Street in Minneapolis.
2. Text your donation – Type the word BLESSING and text it to 85944. A $10 donation will be made in your name and added to your account. (Normal text and data rates may apply. Check with your wireless company to learn more.)
3. Mail checks or money orders to:
American Red Cross – Twin Cities Area Chapter
NW 5597 PO Box 1450
