USA Tops Ghana 2-1 In World Cup Opener

After scoring just 39-seconds into the game, Team USA gave up a late tying goal to Ghana  with only 8-minutes remaining in the World Cup opener for both squads. Just as it appeared the two Group G teams were headed for a tie, John Brooks knocked in a header to give the U.S. a 2-1 win.

With the win, Team USA picks up 3 points, with a minimum of 4 needed to advance to the next round. Next up for the Americans in the first round will be Portugal on Sunday.
