The third preseason game is generally considered the most important of the four. The starters get their most playing time, and the coaches actually build a game plan. Adrian Peterson is expected to see his first preseason action tonight as the Vikes face the 49ers.

The Vikings also have something to prove as they have looked anything but spectacular in their first two preseason matchups. Fan are hoping to see increased offensive production with the addition of Peterson to the lineup.

The Vikings host the Tennessee Titans in their final preseason tune-up this Thursday night before their season opener Sunday, September 8th in Detroit.

Tonight's game can be seen at 7pm CT on NBC's Sunday Night Football.
